PlayStation’s server status webpage still says its servers are experiencing issues about 20 hours after they went offline Friday night, leading to frustration among players who have criticized the company for offering little explanation, though some players say they’re back—with shaky service—as of about 2:30 p.m. EST Saturday afternoon.

Some users on the PlayStation subreddit said they could connect to servers once again as of Saturday afternoon, while others said their service was still down or unreliable.

Fortnite’s X account for status updates said it has seen some players able to log in and play in a post made at 2:41 p.m. EST, but said not all game services may be back online yet.

PlayStation’s server status updates webpage still indicates all servers—including PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store and its gaming services—are experiencing issues.

PlayStation has not provided an update since it made a post on X at 8:46 p.m. EST Friday night acknowledging it is “aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN,” leading some players to criticize the company for a lack of updates.

Reports of PlayStation server outages first spiked on DownDetector at about 6:30 p.m. EST Friday night.

For some users, but not for everyone, according to users on the PlayStation subreddit. Gamers on social media platforms including Reddit and X expressed frustration with the long outage, and Reddit users made posts every hour lamenting that they still can’t play games. Some gamers told the BBC the outage is inconvenient because this weekend, a beta version of the anticipated game Monster Hunter Wild is available and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is offering a double XP weekend.

It’s unclear. PlayStation and Sony have not yet offered an explanation, sparking frustration among gamers. “Don’t understand how there’s no follow up on their part. Say something at least,” one of the most-upvoted comments on the PlayStation subreddit’s outage megathread says.

Some popular games available on PlayStation servers that are impacted include Fortnite, Call of Duty, Roblox and Marvel Rivals. Outage reports for all of these games spiked on DownDetector at the same time PlayStation’s servers appeared to go down.
